Lois Jane (Cottongim) Clark

August 26, 1930 ~ August 8, 2016 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Lois Jane Cottongim Clark, formerly of Lincoln Street in Danville, passed away on August 8, 2016 in New Lenox, Illinois surrounded by her family.  Lois (Cottongim) was born on August 26, 1930 to Boyd and Tilda (Whitaker) Cottongim. Lois married the love of her life, John (Jack) Clark, on May 21, 1955.  She and Jack settled in Avon where she was active in Boy Scouts as a Den Mother and then moved to Danville where she was very active in the Danville Band Parents.  Lois spent most of her career working for Producer’s Marketing Association in Indianapolis as a bookkeeper, but it is when she was retired from there she pursued her true passion working for the Clayton Liberty Township Public Library.  Survivors include her son Philip Michael of Illinois; daughter Alice Thode and son-in-law Marty of Illinois; granddaughters Mia and Ana; brothers Doyle of Oregon and Denny of Greenwood.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband John; both parents; sister Helen; and brother Delmer.  Private services will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery in Cartersburg, Indiana.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clayton Liberty Township Public Library, 5199 Iowa St., Clayton, Indiana 46118.  Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling arrangements.
