Betty Jane (Phillips) Creedon, 96 years young of Dana Point, CA passed away surrounded by family in her home on September 27th at 3:05am. She was born April 22nd 1921 in Speedway, Indiana. She was the daughter of William J. Phillips and Ruth Ellen (Parker) Phillips.
Betty Jane also known as "Granny” attended Indiana University and was the 1st female cheerleader ever in the school's history. She was also a drummer in the marching band.
Betty Jane was the ULTIMATE go getter, traveling from adventure to adventure, coast to coast, ants in her pants at all times. As Granny would say, "We gotta GO".
Granny had a couple of careers, a few decades as a payroll supervisor for Leisure World in Southern California then a few more decades working for Miamisburg Schools in Ohio. Granny retired at 92 years old.
Granny was ALWAYS helping, inspiring, motivating and feeding anyone that crossed her path. She was the mother to many! Her compassion for people and her zest for life was 1st class.
Betty Jane is survived by her daughter, Ann Bass, son, Charles Berling Jr, stepdaughter Keli Creedon, stepson Michael Creedon, grandchildren Harmony, Aaron, Jasmine, Jade, Seth, Parker, Andy, Zoe, Shane, Lukas, Conor, Justin, Jennifer, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her son Neil Berling and stepson Timothy Creedon preceded her in death.
A celebration of life will be at 3pm on Saturday October 14th 2017 in Hall - Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, Indiana with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at 2pm until the service in the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.bakerfuneralservice.com
