As a co-worker of Tom's at Allison, any chance meeting in the factory or hallway was always a pleasant brief moment of talking to someone who really was interested to learn your answer when he asked "how are you?" Tom's happy nature and free spirit made his view of work and life different from most. He willingly shared his unique perspective, usually with a perfect measure of humor. Tom brightened many people's days by his kind words and laughter. My condolences to his entire family on his passing.

I first met Tom at Tarkington Hall at Purdue our freshman year as his room was next door. I learned that we shared a Hendricks County upbringing, an enjoyment of the rock and roll music of those times, and an appreciation for playing golf, where his skills far exceeded mine. One warm winter day, Tom persuaded me to join him for a round on the windswept north course where we both lost balls in snow drifted areas. I enjoyed Tom's friendship while at Purdue and am saddened by his passing.

Tom was a special part of our class and a fine person. His first grade teacher, Helen Madden ( my mother), said that the Class of 1970 was the most outstanding class of her teaching career. She said those "boys" were "full of life" and so smart! Cherish those fond memories.

I enjoyed having Tom as a classmate when we were growing up. While he was employed at Hend. Co. Hospital, he recognized me in the hall. It was so good to talk him again. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. My prayers are with his family.

We are surprised and saddened by Tom's passing, and express our deepest sympathy and prayers for his family. We knew Tom through music and, though we haven't seen him in a while, considered him a dear friend - quiet spoken, always a smile - RIP Tom.

Tom & I shared the same birthday and love of playing guitar and music and would joke and complement each other about it.
He was always a gentleman and friendly person. We had some good times and he will be missed.

I had not seen Tom since high school. He came out to my music studio where our band practices a last summer. Tom brought his guitar and amp and joined right in with us, and we all really enjoyed that evening with Tom. After everyone left Tom and I talked for about an hour, reconnecting and I really enjoyed the stories he shared with me. My sincere condolences for his family. He will be missed by many dear friends.
