John W. Selch, 85 of Avon, passed away October 16, 2016 in Wellbrooke of Avon.  Born November 23, 1930 in Danville, he was the son of Cleo and Mary Lucille Riggan Selch.  He married Harriett Bogan on September 30, 1961 and she preceded him in death in 2000.  John worked for Chrysler for 29 years, retiring in 1979 as a Production Control Manager.  Following retirement he worked for the State of Indiana as a manager.  He was a member of Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church, Western Star Lodge #26 F & AM, Scottish Rite and the Danville American Legion Post #118.  John was an U S Army veteran serving during the Korean War.  Survivors include his son, John Samuel Selch of Avon; 2 grandchildren, Kelsie Jo and Brianna Nicole Selch.  His parents, wife and sister, Janet Marie Shelley, preceded him in death. Services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with burial to follow in Danville South Cemetery.  Calling will be from 12:00 noon until the service in the funeral home.  Contributions may be made to the Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church 4396 E Main St Avon, IN 46123.
