I have fond memories of Jane from our years together at ISU in the School of Education. She was dedicated to her students and to early childhood education. Jane was a solid, knowledgeable, and caring faculty member. She brought laughter where ever she was. Her fascinating homes, both in Terre Haute and out in the country, were always so interesting and fun to visit. I am very saddened to hear of her passing.

Jane was not only my favorite professor she became a friend. I earned my undergraduate degree in 3 years. One summer I had 4 classes, she taught 3 of them. She was a fabulous educator.

I loved her home, sitting on the second level screened it porch was so relaxing. One secret I kept from her was the fact I was getting married my senior year , I didn't want her 'don't get married' speech she found d out 3 days before the wedding. I did get it after all....but I didn't listen!
I was honored to have her a few more times while working on my masters degree.
She was so excited about moving to her farm and giving her dogs room to run, she invited me out, by then I was teaching (kindergarten ) and raising my family. I hope you find comfort in my simple memories of your mom. I have always wondered about her. My deepest sympathy to all of you. She was a jewel. I am a better educator and person because she touched my life.

Granny was a special person ..a roommate on family vacations and a long time friend. We shared a love for our special puppies. She will be missed. Thinking of all the Schollaert families during this difficult time. Know there will be many fun and crazy memories as you celebrate her life. May God bless each one of you.

I enjoyed meeting Jane and spending time with her on her visits to our home at Lake Dragonfly for the "Galveston Girls Pampered in Pfafftown" get together. She had a wonderful spirit and I know she will be missed.

We first met Jane when we were buying her country home in Lewis, In. She was such a delightful lady and were grateful to her for having had built such a precious home. We still live in her home and enjoying it still. A stray cat was found roaming the grounds and we named her Lewis, another showed up and thats Keeper, Blackie, and Scampe..that's just the cats, dogs show up too and have found refuge. Were certain Jane would of approved of the additions. Thank you Jane,

I recall Jane Schollaert when I was a doctoral student at ISU. She had a booming laugh and great determination. Always willing to try new ideas. Great lady. Glad to know her.

I had Dr. Schollaert while getting my degree in Early Childhood. I always enjoyed my classes that she taught. She always had that beautiful smile and encouraged us to be advocates for young children. I wasn't your typical student, I was 30 when I started college. So I was a non-traditional student and remember doing a skit instead of an boring report to teach about the history of education. Dr. Schollaert got a kick out of that. She was in charge of my student teaching and I had family daycare before coming to college. Since I had two minors (kindergarten, and special education) for early childhood. She let me do something different during the summer by going to a family daycare and teach and go to a home of three boys that needed extra help learning. I loved that she trusted me and allowed me the freedom to choose what I wanted to do. I had many laughs with Dr. Schollaert and I loved how she was down to earth and treated everyone with respect. She was an important part of my education and I had the utmost respect for her. I know you will miss her because she was a real hoot. The picture with her in the shower was so perfect to convey how funny she was.

Loving the gorgeous profile you have created of this amazing woman. Am chuckling and crying as I view the photos. She prompted so much laughter. I keep thinking of stories she might not have shared with the kids and do so wish we could sit around and tell stories on her! Jane would love that.
Jane was a very bright spot in my life and contributed so much to the lives of her students. It was my very special privilege to have known her and her children. Love to all, Sandy

I had the honor and pleasure to be a graduate student at ISU and take several classes from Jane. Her love of young children was evident in both her classes and her "office discussions". I learned so much from her that could not be taught in books. As a kindergarten teacher and mother and now grandmother I have tried to use what she taught me both in the classroom and by her example. My deepest sympathy for your family's loss. Remember the happy times.
