Virginia L. Vaughn Martin, 92 of Plainfield, passed away December 31, 2020. She was born on April 2, 1928 in Indianapolis to the late George Lee Saters and Sarah Louise Riggs Saters. Virginia was a music teacher for many years at Wayne Township Schools, retiring in 1993. Music was very important to her. She taught piano lessons to many, served as the choir director for Avon Christian Church and as the organist for Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church and Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. She volunteered for the Hendricks Regional Health Hospital Guild and also Meals on Wheels. Survivors include her children, Michael (Tammye) Vaughn of Clayton, Margo (Michael) Thayer of Plainfield, Marcia (Mike) Conley of Tennessee; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and cousins, Thelma Chris and Cinny Van Gundy. Her first husband and children’s father, Jack Vaughn and her second husband, Donald Martin, both preceded her in death. Services will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service in the funeral home. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks and social distancing are required.
