Sharon L. Shaner, 85 of Danville, passed away June 23, 2021. She was born on June 17, 1936 in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Dorothy M. Johnson and Roy E. Thornburg. She married Amyl Lee Shaner, Jr. on August 20, 1965 in South Bend. Sharon was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an active member of her church, First Assembly of God in Danville. She enjoyed sewing, coloring, and visiting with family and friends. Sharon was a breast cancer survivor and had participated in events, both locally and nationally. Survivors include her sons, Mike (Melissa) Shaner of Avon, Doug Hand of Ohio; brother, Lester (Priscilla) Thornburg of Traverse City, Michigan; grandchildren, Kiley, Brayden, Callen, Heather, Cody, Christine, Doug and 4 great grandchildren, Charlotte, Whitney, Anna and Malia. Her parents, husband and daughter, Diana Pedigo, preceded her in death. Visitation and service will be held at the First Assembly of God Church, Danville, IN on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Visitation is at 10:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at 2:30 pm in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
