Rosemary Crowder, age 79 of Clayton, passed away on December 16, 2020 in Bradenton, Florida. She was born on September 3, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Ernest Nerge and Catherine L. Lepper Kafader. She married James W. Crowder on November 7, 1987. Rosie worked as a clerk for the Central Library downtown. She started as a teenager, took time off to raise her family, and resumed her work at the library for 20 plus years before retiring. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, sewing, making jewelry and greeting cards. She also made lap robes to donate to area hospitals. Rosie was a member of the Hazelwood Christian Church. Survivors include her husband of 33 years, James; children, Kim Catlett (Mike) of Indianapolis, Greg Taylor (Cindy) of Greenwood, Jamie Richard (Danny) of Mooresville; siblings, Lou Anne Lindemann (Don) of Indianapolis, Brenda Foster (Mark) of Westfield, Mark Kafader (Lisa) of Nashville, TN.; grandchildren, Tasha Martin, Shanda Kelly, Nicole Catlett, Morgan Johnson, Crysten Hale, Luke Taylor, Jeremy Richard; 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Her parents, stepfather, Jim Kadafer, sister, Jane Goodyke and a great grandson, Jackson Whitaker, preceded her in death. Calling hours will be on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Steve Ranson officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Cemetery. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, masks and social distancing are required.
