Raymond W Whitaker

Raymond W. Whitaker, 86 of Danville, passed away on October 19, 2023. He was born on December 12, 1936 in Indianapolis to the late Lola (Smiley) and Everett Whitaker. Ray was a mechanic and a member of the Teamsters Union Local 716. He retired from Waste Management and previously worked for Navajo Trucking. He was an avid horse person.  Ray loved showing horses and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his children, Pamela (Robert) York of Greencastle, Timothy (Amanda) Whitaker of South Carolina; grandchildren, Heidi York of Bainbridge, Sidney Whitaker of Florida, Brooke (Devon) Fuller of South Carolina. He has several nieces and nephews in the area. His parents and brothers, Everett “Red” Whitaker, Jr. and Carl Whitaker, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with Pastor Jonathan Lilly officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the service time in the funeral home.
