Nancy L. Duncan, 78 of Plainfield, passed away on July 31, 2021 peacefully at her home surrounded by family. She was born on July 25, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Leon and Doris Gabriel Ford. She married Shelby Duncan on January 13, 1979 and was a waitress/hostess at the Golden Phoenix Restaurant for many years before her retirement. Nancy was a gracious kind-hearted person that always put others before herself. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking; babysitting her grandchildren and the thing that was most important to her was loving her family and spending time with them. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Shelby; children, Debbie Gentry (Jon), Becky Mumaw (Claude), Teresa Schindler (Johnny), Cindy Craig (Rich), Angie Vance (David), Timmy Janney; stepchildren, Bill Duncan and John Duncan; grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda, Amber, Heather, Matthew, Brittany, Chris, Jessica, Sky, Levi, Kristin, Joshua, Anthony, Andrew, Ronnie, Dillon, Ashley, Chelsey and Derrick; brothers, Mike and Jeff Ford; aunt, Sandy Goodyear Clark and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Bobby Janney; brothers, Dave Ford, Tom Ford, Lee Ford, Joe Ford and sister, Carol Blakely. The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the caregivers with Life’s Journey of Avon for the thoughtful care and compassion that was shown to Nancy while she was under hospice care. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. in West Ridge Park Cemetery Chapel on Wednesday August 4, 2021. Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, is handling the arrangements.
