Obituary

Margaret Jessie Brooks, 95, of Danville, passed away on March 04, 2024.  She was born on January 28, 1929 in Indianapolis to the late Margaret (Lutz) and Thomas McClure.  Margaret graduated from Ben Davis High School.  She married Charles Hallie Brooks on September 17, 1950 in Indianapolis and he preceded her in death in 2010.  They were members of the former Hillcrest Baptist Church in Danville.  Margaret was a homemaker and had several secretarial jobs during her working career.  She enjoyed bowling, going to the beach, reading, and cross-stitch.  Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Margaret also loved a well-manicured lawn and her family would gather to help her achieve this.  Survivors include her children, Cheryl Wills (Ken), Thomas Brooks, Tammy Schaub (Alan), all of Danville, Russell Brooks (Tabitha) of Kentucky; Ray Mitchell (Deanna) of Plainfield; grandchildren, Kari Russell, April Jones, Kami McLochlin, Vanessa Mitchell, Kensey Keller, Matthew Brooks, Valerie Mitchell, Jessie Lane, Chris Brooks, Rory Schaub, Goldie Parsons; 28 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, Chuck Brooks, Teresa Brooks, Susie Mitchell; grandson, Nathan Wills; and siblings, Virginia McClure, Bud McClure, Marjorie Roberson, Oscar McClure, Josephine Pearson, Thomas McClure, and Donald McClure.  Baker Funeral Home in Danville is handling the arrangements.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 06, 2024 at Calvary Chapel of Danville.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service time in the church.
