Loretta Jane (Smith) Wilhite

Loretta Jane Wilhite, 90 of Rochester, Indiana passed away on January 5, 2023 in Rochester.  She was born on November 26, 1932 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Charles and Eva O’Donnell Smith. She married Chester Wilhite on October 18, 1949; He preceded her in death in 2018.  Loretta was a cooking assistant at Link Belt Company in Indianapolis for several years before her retirement.  She was a member of the Hazelwood Baptist Church where she faithfully ministered for many years as Sunday school teacher, and attended the First Baptist Church in Mentone, Indiana.  Calling hours will be held January 21, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. in the Hazelwood Baptist Church 9838 South County Road 0 Clayton, Indiana 46118.  Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the church with Pastor Steve Rich officiating.  Burial will follow in Clayton Cemetery.   Survivors include Son: Michael (Cheri) Wilhite; daughter, Sherry (Bob) Gonser; daughter-in-law, Marjorie Wilhite; son-in-law Jim Bracket; 15 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren.  She was preceded in death by son; Perry Wilhite and daughter Cathy Bracket.  Please make memorial contributions to Lifegate, Inc.
