Laura May (Proctor) Schindler, age 77 of Brownsburg, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 8, 2021. She was born on June 20, 1943, in Indianapolis to the late James Edward and Nancy Bell Hollingsworth Proctor. She married John William (Bill) Schindler on September 23, 1962. Laura May was a homemaker and a member of the Crooked Creek Baptist Church in Indianapolis. She spent much of her time raising her own three children and also caring for many of her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren over the years. Survivors include her Husband, John, her daughter, Julie Scharlau (Mike), sons, Johnny Schindler (Teresa) and Eddie Schindler (Trina), grandchildren Christopher, Jessica, Michelle, Zack, Megan, Ally, Justin, and Alyssa and great grandchildren Braiden, Caleb, Delaney, Aubrey and Haleigh. Visitation will be held on Thursday February 11, 2021, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a service immediately following in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield; Pastor Jon Pierson officiating. A private burial with family will take place at a later date. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Phyllis Proctor and June Ann Thomas, her brother Charles Proctor and her granddaughter Alex Nicole. All guests attending visitation and/or services will be required to wear a mask at all times in an effort to promote a safe environment.
