Kathleen Wernsing Obituary

Kathleen Rose Wernsing, 75 of Danville, passed away on November 07, 2023.  She was born on August 27, 1948 in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Dorothea M. “Reecie” (Walters) and James U. Smith.  Kathleen married Robert W. Wernsing on January 06, 1990 in Danville.  She was the office manager for Dr. Goodell and Dr. Zauel Ophthalmologist’s office in Danville for 33 years.  She then worked as needed for Hendricks Regional Health as an associate.  Kathleen enjoyed working crossword puzzles, was an avid reader, and an artist doing soft sculptures.  She was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church.  Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Bob Wernsing of Danville; son, Chris (Karin) Coons of Lewisville, Texas; daughter, Kim (Charles) Saunders of Indianapolis; sisters, Becky (Jim) King of New Albany, Mary (Steve) Behny of Silver Lake, Indiana; 3 grandchildren, Carlos Saunders, Carmen Saunders, Stacia Saunders, all of Indianapolis; and one great-grandchild, Caiden Saunders.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023 in the Danville United Methodist Church with Dr. P. T. Wilson officiating.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the service time in the church.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Shared Blessings Food Pantry 820 W Mill St Danville, IN 46122.  Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the arrangements.
