Joseph Anthony Jones

Joseph Anthony Jones (aka “Frog”), 71 of Danville, passed away on February 16, 2023.  He was born on February 18, 1951 in Indianapolis to Louise (Frazier) Jones and the late Roy E. Jones.  Joe married Melanie J. Chalfant Lofton on February 10, 1990, in Danville.  He was an inside salesman for Inweld/AWG for over 25 years retiring in 2014.  An avid shooter and hunter, he was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.  Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Melanie Jones of Danville; sons, Clint Jones “C.J.” (Lashana) of Crawfordsville, Bart Lofton (Heather) of Carmel, Brady Lofton (Suzan) of Columbus; mother, Louise Leach of Danville; brother, Jim Jones (Alice) of Dayton, OH.; sister, Judy Jones of Danville; seven grandchildren, Jozee, Carson, Bailey, Corbin, Royce, Brier, and Mallory.  His father and brother, John Jones, preceded him in death.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 18 from 1 - 4pm at the Blanton House, 625 N. Washington St. in Danville.  Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Danville Chapter of FFA c/o Danville Community High School, 100 Warrior Way Danville, IN 46122.
