John W. “Bill” Schindler, Sr., age 79, of Brownsburg, passed away on November 19, 2021. He was born in Indianapolis on September 15, 1942, to the late John Eugene and Kathleen Melinda (Allee) Schindler. On September 23, 1962, he married the love of his life, Laura May (Proctor) Schindler. They were married for 58 years when she passed away earlier this year, on February 8th. He was the owner of Schindler Electric in Brownsburg for over 20 years. Bill was member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church in Indianapolis and current President of the Pike Township Lions Club. Survivors include one sibling, Thomas Eugene; children: Julie Scharlau (Mike), John Schindler, Jr. (Teresa) and Eddie Schindler (Trina); grandchildren: Christopher (Krista), Jessica (Jason), Michelle, Zack, Megan, Ally, Justin, Alyssa and Alex Nicole (who preceded him in death); great-grandchildren: Haleigh, Braiden, Caleb, Delaney, Aubrey, and another girl on the way. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews as well as many life-long friends and numerous camping buddies. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021, from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service following at 1:00 p.m. at Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield with Pastor Jon Pierson officiating. He was also preceded in death by siblings Robert Carol Schindler and Patricia Jane Horrigan.
