Obituary

The story of John H. Anderson (age 70) started on May 17th, 1950 in a small town called Guymon, Oklahoma.  While enduring a childhood full of challenge and change, John soon found respite on the family farm of his adopted parents, Benjamin and Dorotha Anderson.  These early years and his time in the U.S. Marines where he served two tours in Vietnam, formed the basis for his tireless work ethic & incredibly giving heart.  Through the years, John had many adventures, from starting AMS Production Machining, Inc. from a table in his garage to becoming the patriarch of an ever-growing family.  He was a kind man who made everyone feel important and gave freely.  John was involved in his community where he served several years on the Plainfield Police board of commissioners and was a founding member of the Hendricks County Community Foundation.  He was fiercely loyal and devoted to his family, from the late Benjamin and Dorotha to his surviving wife Debbie Anderson, sister Donna McGuyre and children Judd Meyer, Benjamin C. Anderson (wife Constance), Russell Meyer, and John Colby Anderson (wife Marci).  He loved being a PaPa and spending time with 11 grandchildren brought joy to his life and put a gleam in his eye.  The world lost a good one on March 18th when John passed, and he will be missed by his family and the community.  In typical John fashion, it was his adamant wish that a funeral not be held, but the family will hold a private service at a later date.  If you would like to pay your respects, please donate to Strides to Success in Plainfield or Plainfield LEO Family Foundation in memoriam of his incredible life.  These funds can be reached through the Hendricks County Community Foundation.  Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield is handling the arrangements.    Please visit www.bakerfuneralservice.com to leave the family a condolence or a memory of John.
