James, (Jim) Carl Sims Jr. of Indianapolis, passed away on November 28, 2022. He was born March 26, 1943 in Neon, Kentucky to the late Dyancia and James Carl Sims Sr. Jim was married to Judy Sims for 60 years. They owned and operated Sims One Hour Dry-cleaning and Lincolnshire Mobile Home Park. Jim was also the Senior Estimator for Excel Graphics until his retirement. Jim loved buying and selling on eBay, bowling and had managed 2 bowling centers and was an excellent bowler even winning a car. He and his teammates had won the City & State tournament. Jim also loved going to the lake, fishing & playing golf. He was a member of Westlake Community Church of God. He was a loving husband, father and Papaw and his grandchildren’s biggest fan. Survivors include: His wife, Judy Sims, 2 children, James Sims III and Lisa Waters (Jeff), 4 grandchildren, Jack Waters (Trisha), Marisa Thomas (Chris), Audrey Sims and Samantha Waters. His parents and sister, Ernestine Snodgrass, preceded him in death. The Calling and Funeral Service will be at Westlake Church of God, 6696 Rockville Rd. Calling will be from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. Funeral Service will be at 12:00 P.M., followed by an escorted procession to Maple Hill Cemetery, 709 Harding, Plainfield with a short committal service inside the Maple Hill Chapel rather than the graveside tent. Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield is handling the arrangements.
