James L. Parks, 75 of Danville, passed away January 03, 2021. He was born on July 30, 1945 in Marianna, Arkansas. James married Dorothy L. Howell on September 16, 1966 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a Jack-of-all-trades, working as a longshoreman for several years, for the Ford Motor Company, carpentry and reupholstering furniture. James was most happy while spending time with his family, watching western movies, working on cars. He is well known for his outgoing personality and always being willing to help friends and family in need. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Parks of Danville, IN; children, Virgil Parks of Columbus, OH., Antoine Parks (Jannell Bowman) of Chicago, IL. and Shandolyn Aboudou (Rayal Aboudou) of Danville, IN. Grandchildren: Virgil Griffin, Shavonda Price, Accacia Parks, Steven Fletcher, Ashley Parks and Nawaf Aboudou Siblings: brother, Zachary Chatwood of Kansas City, MO.; sisters, Jewell French, Ida Johnson, Alice Gardner, all of Columbus, OH., Darlene Johnson of Kansas City, MO., Rosie French of Columbus, OH. Preceded In Death: Jewell Johnson French (Step-father Mr.French) and siblings, Benny Wrose, Georgia French and Annie French.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the service in the funeral home. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 09, 2021 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with burial to follow in Danville South Cemetery.
