Glen A. Miles

Glen Alton Miles, of Plainfield, Indiana, went to his eternal home in heaven on November 18, 2022 at the age of 86.

Glen was born on November 2, 1936 to Arthur Miles and Beatrice (Scotten) Miles in Plainfield, Indiana.  He grew up in Plainfield, graduated from Plainfield High School, and obtained degrees from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  He worked as a chemical engineer for the Allison Gas Turbines Division of General Motors Corporation for over 30 years.  Glen married his wife Vonda on June 1, 1968, and they raised their three children in a home between Plainfield and Mooresville.

The most important thing to Glen was his faith in Jesus Christ.  He was an active member of Second Chance Church of the Nazarene and served many years in the work of The Gideons International.  Glen spent many years volunteering with the ministry of Youth Bible Quizzing.

Glen is survived by a son, Tom (Jennifer) Miles; a daughter, Becky Miles; a grandson, Nathan Miles; brothers, Don (Mary Lou) Miles, Joe Brown, Gordon (Donna) Brown, and Kenny (Sally) Brown; and a sister, Lynn Ellen Allen.

Those who preceded Glen in death include his wife Vonda (Strickland) Miles; his parents, Arthur Miles and Beatrice Scotten Miles Brown; his step-father Orzo Brown; a son, Samuel Miles; a brother, Phillip Brown; and sisters, Sandra Brown and Marjorie Burris.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Hall-Baker Funeral Home (339 East Main St, Plainfield, IN 46168).  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Second Chance Church of the Nazarene (149 Vestal Rd, Plainfield, IN 46168), with Rev. Darwin Pressler presiding.  Visitation will begin an hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Stilesville Cemetery.  Arrangements are being handled by Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.
