Janet Gayle Chalfant, born on July 3, 1934 to Velda Russell Ayers and Morton W. Ayers (Deceased) in Raintown, Indiana.  Married to Dale Chalfant on July 9, 1950 in Danville.  She was a mother of five children: Melanie (Joe) Jones, Danena (Steve) Price, Ramona (Matthew) Griffith, sons Carey and Kent Chalfant.  Gayle had 11 Grandchildren and 13 Greatgrandchildren; all were the love of her life.  She was not only a housewife but worked for Hooks Drugs for 20 years as a Merchandise Consultant.  Gayle was very involved in the Danville Little League Baseball Association, serving as President and board member for several years.  She had 3 sisters Carol Fred, Judy Davis, and Marilyn Huskey (Deceased). Brothers: James and Steve Dugan. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville.
