Obituary

Fanny Martina McLaughlin, 97 of Plainfield, passed away October 24, 2020.  She was born on March 30, 1923 in Carthage, Tennessee, to the late George Benton and Maggie (Pope) Silcox.  She loved her family, enjoyed cooking, sewing, planting flowers, spreading laughter and sharing Jesus with everyone.  Fanny ministered for many years at a local nursing home and was gifted in writing/playing music and enjoyed singing at her local church.  She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Plainfield where she was actively involved with the Women’s Ministry and church choir.  Fanny married Earl Keith McLaughlin in 1943 and they had three children.  Survivors include her sister, Lucille Theiring of Texas; her daughter, C. Earlene (Ron) Antes of Arizona; her five grandchildren, Marlene Logston, Penny Johnson, Tina (John) Kanipe, Sharon and Shawney McLaughlin; four great grandchildren, Tiffany (Michael) Cones, Ashley and Lindsey Johnson, Kody Kanipe; seven great-great grandchildren, Katelyn (Triston) McKnight, Abby, Justin, Emma, Blake, Ethan and Maci.  Her parents, 8 siblings, husband, son, Earl Wilson, daughter, Kathy Louise McLaughlin and great grandson, Jason Logston, preceded her in death.  Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2020 in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with burial to follow in Clayton Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital  501 St. Jude Place  Memphis, TN  38105-9959.
