Donnie Jay Powell, 63 of Indianapolis, passed away February 10, 2021. He was born on July 07, 1957 in Morganfield, Kentucky, to the late Robert L. and Martha (Hopper) Powell. Donnie was an U. S. Army veteran. He worked in the transportation industry as a truck driver. Donnie was a member of the Belleville Masonic Lodge #65 and the Rock-n-Reelers Fishing Club. He was most happy when he was riding his motorcycle. Survivors include his sons, Dustin J. Powell, Robert E. Powell; grandson, Tyler Powell, all of Danville; stepchildren, Anthony Gray of Plainfield, Shannon Gray of Boynton Beach, FL.; brother, Jim (Suzy) Powell of Brownsburg; sisters, Pat (Wayne) Lottes of Avon, Linda Eickleberry of Indianapolis, and his twin sister, Teresa (Bill) Wade of Clayton. His parents, brother, Bruce Powell and brother-in-law, Steve Eickleberry, preceded him in death. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2021 in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield. A Masonic service will begin at 2:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service and concluding with Military Rites. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Powell Family Underprivileged Children’s Christmas Fund (please make checks payable to Pat Lottes). This is a charity that is near and dear to the entire Powell family. All guests attending visitation and/or services will be required to wear a mask at all times in an effort to promote a safe environment.
