Obituary

David Lee Hamil, 66, of Plainfield, Indiana, passed from this life at his home on April 25, 2020. He was born in Indianapolis on August 21, 1953 to the late Willie Beryl Hamil and Wilma Lee Cowden (Hamil).

A 1972 graduate from Martinsville High School where he was a member of the FFA and track team. David was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Lodge #3207 in Plainfield, Indiana.

 

David worked at Adesa in Plainfield for 19 years.

 

David never met a stranger; he was a friend to everyone he met. David loved to fish, he enjoyed deer, turkey and mushroom hunting, NASCAR and old trucks.

 

David was proceeded in death by his parents Willie Beryl Hamil and Wilma Lee Cowden (Hamil), Brother Willie Dean Hamil, Nephews Jon Dexter Arthur and Roger Dean Hamil, and Sister Diana Arthur (Hamil). Also, his beloved pet Kane which was a rescue dog.

 

David is survived by his life partner Terri L. Nieman and Terri’s Daughter and son Anthony L. Hatchel Jr. and Tonia L. Hatchel, Terri’s Grandchildren Jordan, Andrew, Peyton, and LeeLyn. Sisters Darlene Hamil of Mooresville; Deana Hamil of Saint Augustine, FL, nephew Jason VanCleave; nieces, Schoney Keen (Billy), Jatara Falls (Shawn), Wendy Lammers (Rex Baker), Crystal Salinas (Michael).  His best friends Chick White (Polly), Jeff Wheeler (Sharon), and Jerry Wentworth (Debra).

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Lodge #3207.
