Clyde Craghead, 87 of Plainfield, passed away August 16, 2021. He was born on March 06, 1934 in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to the late Charlie Reed and Ethel Mae (West) Craighead. Clyde married the love of his life, Elizabeth Smith on September 5th, 1953. Together they had 2 children, Rick & Deborah. Clyde owned and operated 2 Shell Dealerships for 33 years and previously owned 3 bars and 3 liquor stores. The greatest joys of his life came when his grandchildren Bridget & Anthony were born. Clyde loved family gatherings and playing with his 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elizabeth, siblings, JT, LB, HC, Athylene, and Estolene. Survivors include his son, Rick Craghead, Nancy Williams, daughter, Debbie Bell (Mark), granddaughter Bridget Reed (Mike) and grandson, Anthony Bell (Liz). Clyde also is survived by his 5 beautiful great grandchildren, nieces & nephews in Louisville, Ky and Owensboro, Ky and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Craighead. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date in Clyde’s home. Private burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
