Burdell Elaine (Coy) Marcotte, passed peacefully into eternal life on December 29, 2018. Burdell lived a full and prosperous 91 years, traveling the world with her husband and touching the lives of many with her hospitality. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Thomas Francis Marcotte, who she married on December 29, 1946.
Survivors include her children, Thomas Marcotte Jr. of Noblesville, Indiana, Nancy Marcotte of Ann Arbor, Michigan, James (Kathy) Marcotte of Houston, Texas; sister, Geraldine Ritsema; grandchildren, Julie (Joel) Thacker, Angie (Aaron) Sanders, Sarah (Nick) Lacy, Kat McKay, Abby (David) Gossett, and Elliott Marcotte; 8 great grandchildren. Her parents, Harvey and Lialas Burger Coy and sister, Beverly Balthazor, preceded her in death.
Burdell was a dedicated homemaker, antique collector, and creative crafter with a flair for making every family event special. She loved crossword puzzles, cooking for others, and playing cards with friends.
We want to thank all who impacted Burdell's life over the years, particularly her faithful friends at Sander’s Glen Retirement Community in Westfield, Indiana. In keeping Burdell’s wishes, she will be cremated and inurned with her husband at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life in the spring. Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, is in charge of the arrangements.
