William Jeffrey Yochum, 55 of Avon, passed away September 4, 2018 in his residence.  Born August 26, 1963 in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, he is the son of Nancy Sue (Jones) Havens and William Yochum.  Jeff graduated from Plainfield High School in 1981 and from Indiana University, Bloomington, with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1986.  Jeff was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity at Indiana University.  Jeff was an entrepreneur and owned and operated a trucking company, J & J Holdings, for over 20 years.  He had a love for IRL racing, the ocean and the Virgin Islands.  He had a passion for boating, deep sea fishing, and was a certified master scuba diver.

His father William H. Yochum precedes him in death.  Survivors include his mother, Nancy Sue Havens of Punta Gorda, Florida; brother, Jon A. Yochum (Marci) of Westfield; sister, Rebecca S. Havens (Blake Beard) of Brownsburg; niece, Claire Yochum and nephew, Jack Yochum.

Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield, Indiana, is handling the arrangements for a private memorial service for the family on Sunday.  Jeff will be remembered in a Celebration of Life at a future date to be determined.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) online at https://www.usvirecovery.org
