William Henry “Hank” Hammond, 84, of Avon, Indiana, formerly of The Villages, Florida, passed away on October 31st, 2026. Hank was born on July 10, 1942, in Paris, Illinois, to the late Dee Hammond and Mary Kathryn Hartley Hammond. He retired in 2002 after a successful career as a General Manager with Cinergy, now known as Duke Energy.

Hank was a devoted Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed trap and skeet shooting. He was also a proud 50-year member of West Terre Haute Masonic Lodge #687, a member of the Scottish Rite, and a member of The Eagles in Plainfield.

Above all, Hank leaves behind a family who loved him dearly. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Coleman Hammond; his sons, Mike Hammond, Joe Hammond (Julie), and Andrew Hammond (Jennifer); and his stepdaughter, Kari Mansinne Hutson.

His cherished grandchildren include Zoe and Henry Hammond (Mike); Nick, Cole, and Kate Hammond (Joe); Tate Dugan (Andrew); Spencer, Dylan, and Parker Hutson (Kari); and Taylor, Kollin, and Kyler Mansinne (Brad).

Hank was preceded in death by his father, Dee Hammond; his mother, Mary Kathryn “Maw” Hammond; his sisters, Dea Kathryn Hammond and Helen “Beatie” Snow; and his stepson, Brad Mansinne.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 6, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield. A Celebration of Life will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
