William Edward Gunnell, 78, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 17, 2024. He was born on January 02, 1946 in Morenci, Michigan, to the late Nita J. (Allis) and Paul R. Gunnell. William was a U. S. Navy veteran and received his training in aviation mechanics while serving his country. He worked for Delta Airlines for almost 20 years as an aviation mechanic and inspector. William married Nan F. Tucker in 1969 and they had 2 daughters, Amanda T. Wilson (David) and Andrea P. Gunnell (Chris Chapman), both of California; he married Mary L. Bowser on October 5, 1996 and she preceded him in death on February 28, 2016. Survivors include his daughters; stepchildren, Joseph D. Bowser (Darlene) of Quincy, Cassie Bowser of Plainfield; siblings, Paula J. Kilburn (William) of Michigan, Keith E. Gunnell (Rosalie) of Texas, Roberta M. Gunnell of Plainfield; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 23 nieces and nephews. His parents; wife, Mary Gunnell; and sister, Karen E. Lyons, preceded him in death. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 in West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
