William R. "Bill" Porter, age 78 of Plainfield, passed away on February 19, 2022.  He was born on October 23, 1943 to the late William Leslie and Lenos Porter Whitliff Smith.  Bill was the widower of Beverly Diane Dietrich Porter.  Bill was a US Navy Veteran.  He was a salesman for Sears and Roebuck for over 40 years retiring in 2007.  He was a member of St. Susanna Catholic Church. Bill was an avid pickle ball player.   Visitation will be held on Friday February 25 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in St. Susanna Catholic Church 1210 East Main Street Plainfield, Indiana.  A funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday February in St. Susanna Catholic Church will FR. Rob Hausladen officiating.  Entombment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.  Survivors include his children: Jennifer O'Neal (Chris) and Michael Porter (Lindsey).
