Obituary

William Wayne Ball of Danville, Indiana, entered eternal life with his Lord January 2, 2025, after a long illness. Bill was born March 5, 1946 in Lewisburg, Tennessee to the late John and Lucille Ball (Mansell) and was one of eleven siblings. He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis. Bill worked as a maintenance mechanic during his career, retiring from 3M in 2010. He rarely missed a day of work. After retiring, he enjoyed working security at the Colts games and especially enjoyed working the Super Bowl in 2012. Bill enjoyed being an avid sports enthusiast, following closely teams at Notre Dame and IU. He also enjoyed the Indianapolis 500 race, and was able to attend most of the races. After retiring, he loved to travel. He and his wife Pam visited several countries and had the pleasure of meeting new people and exploring the history in various countries. He also loved Siesta Key in Florida. Bill was a devout Christian and a member of Bartlett Chapel Church in Avon. He was loved dearly by family and friends. Bill and Pam loved their eight grandchildren and enjoyed taking them on various overnight trips. Their first great grandchild, Parker, was born in 2022. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucille Ball, siblings Elaine Ball, Faye Lanham, Preston Ball, and Barbara Ball. Also preceding him in death was his father-in-law, Robert Snelling and his daughter-in-law, Kimberly Cunningham. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Ball; his son, Wayne Ball (Vanessa); his daughter, Stephanie Wilson (Jeff); his grandchildren, Juliana Bragg (Braxton), Logan Ball, Nevaeh Wilson, Remington Wilson, Walker Wilson; and his siblings, David Ball (Marilyn), Larry Ball, Betty Coffey (George), Carolyn Dodson, Bobby Ball (Janie), and Nancy Ball. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Charlene Snelling; stepsons, Jay Cunningham (Tammy), and Jeff Cunningham; and grandchildren, Hannah Newgent (Jonny), Kyle Cunningham (Ameya), and Brent Cunningham and his great grandchild, Parker Newgent. Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Jennifer Bradley (Rod.) The Ball family was large and he was close to many nephews and nieces as well as their children. You may pay your respects at Bartlett Chapel Church, 4396 E. Main Street, Avon, Indiana, on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, with the funeral service to begin at 12:00 noon. Bill will be buried in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery in Waynetown, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bartlett Chapel in Bill's honor.  Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the arrangements.
