Walter R. "Walt" Jarman, age 89, of Plainfield passed away on January, 3, 2024 in his residence.  He was born on January 19, 1934 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Walter C. and Willie Wade Martin Jarman.  He married the love of his life, Cathy Johnson, on January 11th, 1958 in Ringgold, Georgia.   Walter was a proud Navy Veteran and attendee on an honor flight in 2015.  He was a graduate of Tennessee Tech University, Cookeville, Tennessee.  Walt worked for General Motors, Chrysler and Allison's for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the VFW and the Plainfield Masonic Lodge #653.  Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday January 9, 2024 at 1 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home with entombment to follow with full military rites in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.  Visitation will be held on January 9, 2024 from 11 a.m. until services in the funeral home.  Survivors include his children: Tammy Christian and husband Mike, Bryan Jarman and wife Mary.  Grandchildren: Jeremy Arthur, Elizabeth Anderson, Michael Jarman and wife Mary, and Melissa Jarman.  Great-granddaughters: Elise Arthur and Luzetta Schreiner.  He was preceded in death by his wife Cathy Jarman and son Edward Jarman.   Please make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tn. 38105-9959.
