Virgina Kay Newlin, age 78, of Plainfield passed away peacefully on Sunday August 9, 2026 at the Village of Avon surrounded by family. She was born on March 25, 1948 in Indianapolis to the late Dale Dwight Newlin and Eula Lucille Denney Newlin. Kay was a 1966 graduate of Plainfield High School. She a beautician for 43 years. Kay was a member of the Good Shepard Baptist Church in Mooresville and sang in the Choir. Kay had the blessing to travel to the Holy land on 3 occasions. She was a volunteer at Plainfield Healthcare, enjoyed to play bingo, and taught cosmetology in Lebanon and Whitestown.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 12, 2026 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield. Additional visitation will be held on Thursday August 13, 2026 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Good Shepard Baptist Church 1150 IN-144 Mooresville, Indiana 46158. Funeral services will follow at 1p.m. in the church with Burial to follow in Gosport Cemetery, Gosport, Indiana.

Survivors include her siblings: Mary Frances Jones of DeFuniak Springs, Fl., Donna Tallent of Plainfield, John Newlin (Edith) of Plainfield, Cherie Webster (David) of Speedway. Many nieces and nephews.
