Veldon R. Smith, age 74 of Roachdale, passed away on April 1, 2019 in Tampa, Florida.  He was born on February 28, 1945 in Moss, Tennessee to the late Estus and Vassye Hinson Smith.  Veldon was an avid trap shooter and golfer.  He attended Faith Baptist Church in Avon and Grace Baptist Church in Coatesville.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary (Cooper) Smith; son Steve (Missy) Smith; daughter Annette Sperback; grandchildren, Courtney Smith, Jacob Smith, Daniel (Haley) Smith, Zachary (Alex) Sperback, Hannah Sperback and a great grandchild, Penelope Smith.  Visitation will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm with burial to follow in Stilesville Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Worldview Missions 7090 U S Hwy 36 Avon, IN 46123.  Online condolences may be made at www.bakerfuneralservice.com
