IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Treva B.
(Myerholtz) Marcum-Rubsam
November 7, 1953 – September 17, 2025
Treva B. Myerholtz Marcum-Rubsam, 71, of Clayton, Indiana, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 11:09 p.m. in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. She departed with unwavering faith, assured in the promise of eternal life, and is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Treva was born on November 7, 1953, in Port Clinton, Ohio, to Emil George Myerholtz and Beetrice Mary Leutz. She enjoyed growing up on her parents' farm in Rocky Ridge, Ohio, and especially loved ice skating on the frozen stone quarry near their home. She was a 1971 graduate of Oak Harbor High School in Oak Harbor, Ohio, and Penta County Vocational High School in Perrysburg, Ohio.
On October 9, 1971, she married Roger Donald Marcum in Oak Harbor, Ohio. Although the marriage later ended, it was blessed with four children: Kirk Alan, Nicole Rae, Tiffany Jo, and Karl Ryan. On September 24, 2005, Treva married Daniel Paul Rubsam in Noblesville, Indiana. She was a devoted, loving, and supportive wife until his passing in 2015.
Treva worked as a receptionist for decades at several central Indiana automotive dealerships and most recently spent nine years at Stoops Freightliner, where she truly loved her work. She was admired for her warmth, her kindness toward others, and her ability to brighten the day of those around her.
Faith and family were the heart of who Treva was. She was an active member of Plainfield United Methodist Church and lived her life with unwavering faith, trusting God through every season. She was also an extraordinary mother who lovingly raised four children as a single parent, sacrificing daily for their well-being. The love she carried for her family was immense and immeasurable in words yet deeply felt by all who knew her.
Her special touches brought joy to others. She delighted in sending greeting cards adorned with the newest postage stamps, often tucking inside a joke, word search, or a sprinkle of confetti. She will also be remembered for her love of the color purple, snow, nature, fireworks, and evenings around the glow of a fire. A proud Buckeye, she cheered for The Ohio State University, enjoyed Cedar Point amusement park, and laughed easily over silly jokes. She enjoyed summer fairs, especially tractor pulls, demolition derbies, and horse events, and throughout her life captured life's moments through photography, as cherished memories. She delighted in the simple tradition of playing Uno with her family, a pastime that never failed to fill the room with laughter. Treva lived with a heart for others, faithfully donating blood and joyfully caring for children at home and church, nurturing countless little ones through the years.
Left to treasure her memory are her loving children: Kirk (Shelley) Marcum, Nicole (Ched) Mobley, Tiffany (John) Shorb, and Karl (Stephanie) Marcum; along with her beloved "Terrific
Ten" grandchildren: Tyler Alan and Riley Renee Marcum; Joel Branson and Seth Jayson Mobley; Oren August and Abner Otis Shorb; and Zachary Ryan, Kirstyn Elizabeth, Brayden Xavier, and Layne Alexander Marcum. Treva was "peacock proud" of them all.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her four older half-siblings: Marvin Myerholtz, Dorothy Jensen, Glenn Myerholtz, and Velma Kaiser Velliquette.
