Thomas Grant Ayres, 70 of Danville, passed away on September 29, 2019. He was born on April 10, 1949 in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Lewis Grant and Ruth Welch Ayres. He received his Bachelors degree in Education and Masters degree in Urban Planning from The Ohio State University. Tom wed Leslie Marie Law on April 21, 1984 in Rockville, Indiana. He began his career at Anthem in 1974, retiring as an Account Executive, National Labor and Trust, in 2016. Tom was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Leslie Ayres of Danville; children, Erin Ayres Steele (Steven) of Avon, J.T. Ayres (Katy) of Avon, KatieRuth Ayres Lee (Brandt) of Brownsburg; grandchildren Caitlin, Brayden and Madelyn Steele, Rowan Ayres, Addison and Griffin Lee and one granddaughter on the way; brother, William Ayres of Florida and many loving in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. His parents and sister, Emily Ayres Wadsworth, preceded him in death. Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is overseeing arrangements. A celebration of life will be held in his memory.
