Sylvia "Sue" Chesser, age 86, of Plainfield, passed away on January 19, 2022 in her residence.  She was born in Francisco, Indiana on December 4, 1935 to the late Leonard E. and Julia Caniff Helsley.  Sue was the widow of Russell B. Chesser.  Sue was a beautician in the late 50's, worked in housekeeping at Duke Energy from 1984 to 1996 and then worked for the Plainfield school corporation until her retirement in 2014.  She was a past member of the order of Eastern Star in Winslow, Indiana chapter 391 from 1957 to 1974 and also a member of the Rainbow for girls.  Funeral services will be held on Monday January 24, 2022 at 1 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.  Calling hours will be held on Monday from 11 a.m. until funeral services in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Plainfield Middle School athletic department in care of Hall-Baker Funeral Home 339 East Main St. Plainfield, In. 46168.  Survivors include her daughter: Theresa E. Carr (Danny).  Son: Keith Chesser (Beth).   Grandchildren: Brandon Carr (Holly) and Melissa Carr Baldwin.  Greatgrandchildren: Julia Carr, Kayla Carr, Sophia Baldwin, and Carter Baldwin.  She was preceded in death by her sister: Barbara E.
