Dr. Syed A. "Sy" Ali, 92 of Plainfield, passed away on January 26, 2020 in Cumberland Trace in Plainfield.  He was born on December 25, 1927 in Hyderabad, India to Ejad and Rubab Jung Ali.  Sy was an energy consultant for several companies including Duke Energy and Rolls Royce.  Sy received his PHD from Michigan State University.   He married Lucille Dahlgren on April 30, 1955; she survives.  He was a member of the National Coal Council and the Aeronautics and Astronautics Association.  Funeral services for Sy will be on Thursday January 30, 2020 at 2 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Calling hours will be from 12 noon until services in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.  Survivors include his wife of 64 years Lucille Ali.  Daughter: Anita Sipes (Jeff).  Son: Jeff Ali.  Brother: Mazhar Ali (Tetta).  Sisters: Qamer Ali (Rafiq), Badar Ali and Najam Moshin.  2 Grandchildren: Molly and Natalie Sipes.  Several nieces and nephews.  Please make memorial gifts to the Exotic Feline Rescue Center 2221 East Ashboro Rd.
