Steven Lee Smothers 73, of Plainfield, passed away in his residence on February 15, 2018.  He was born on January 4, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Howard and Mary Bowman Smothers.  He married Linda Collins; she survives.  He retired from the US Airforce after 20 years and then was counselor for the Indiana Department of corrections.  Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield is handling cremation arrangements.
