Steven James Helton, age 76 of Plainfield, passed away on July 12, 2025.

Steven was a Journeyman Electrician before retirement. He enjoyed traveling, hiking, biking and rock climbing. He also enjoyed music and played acoustic and electric guitars. Steven was interested in many different subjects and was constantly reading about those subjects.

Steven was born on April 25, 1949, in Louisville, Ky to Prince and Juanita Helton (who preceded him in death. His sister Jan Philips also preceded him in death). He was devoted to his Family and was always there to help them whenever he could. His quiet manner of kindness, compassion and humility are a legacy that we as a Family will continue to include in our daily lives.

Steven is survived by his wife, Lynette and his sister, Christy Hutchison and her husband Scott. Steven has a niece and four nephews. He also has several great nephews, great nieces and cousins who he loved dearly.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at a Calvary United Methodist Church, 575 West Northfield Drive in Brownsburg, Indiana 46112. The Service will begin at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Private interment will take place in the Clayton Cemetery.
