Sharyl Dawn Hartsock, 60 of Avon, passed away on March 02, 2026 at the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was born on December 18, 1965 in Indianapolis to the late Ruth (Alexander) and Robert Engel.
Sharyl was a pharmacist for Eli Lilly and Company for the past 34 years. She was a devoted member of the Lilly family, who poured her heart into her work and cared deeply for her coworkers, colleagues, and people she supported every day. When not working, she enjoyed being outdoors, spending time at her lake house, or hiking the mountains.
Sharyl was a mother whose love knew no limits, steadfast, selfless, and always ready to do anything for her children and family. She found joy in every part of her family. She delighted in supporting Alyssa’s dance, celebrating every step and performance, watching horror movies with Brandon, and spending cherished time with Nick and her grandchildren. Anytime they were together they could be found listening and singing to music.
Survivors include her children, Brandon Hartsock of Indianapolis, Nicholas Hartsock of Greenwood, Alyssa Hartsock (Sam Micheels) of Avon; brother, Brad Engel (Joanie) of Martinsville; grandchildren, Robbie Hartsock, Kashton, Jade and Layla Johnson.
