Obituary

Russell G. Hutchens "Gene", 80 of Danville, passed away on December 03, 2022.  He was born on September 14, 1942 in Clayton, Indiana, to the late Mildred I. (Hall) and Walter Hutchens.  Gene was a mechanic for the Town of Speedway for 33 years before retiring in 2007.  He was a U. S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam Conflict and a member of the American Legion Post #118 in Danville.  Gene loved to go deer hunting, fishing, and watching his hummingbirds. He especially enjoyed working outside and maintaining his country property.  Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth "Pauline" Moody (Duane) of Danville; siblings, Donnie Hutchens, Max Hutchens, Sharon Morford; grandchildren, Beth Booher (Byron), Russell Moody (Brooke); and 3 great grandchildren, Serena, Rory, and Alexander.  His parents; children, Donna Hutchens, David Hutchens; and siblings, Robert Hutchens, Marilyn Pridemore, Larry Hutchens and Jan Duty,  preceded him in death.  A graveside service with military honors will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, December 09, 2022 at West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.  Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the arrangements.
