Roland L. Ward, 67 of Plainfield, passed away on September 30, 2020 in I.U. West Hospital in Avon. He was born on May 18, 1953 in Indianapolis to the late Ernest Ward, Jr. and Beverly Parker Ward.  Roland worked as a cashier at Kroger's supermarket in Plainfield for several years before his retirement.  He was a member of the Plainfield Christian Church, umpired girl's softball for several years and was still actively coaching girl's softball. Survivors include his siblings, Ernest Ward III, Marsha Bryant and Jody Siddons; sons, Jason and Chris Ward; 1 grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Amanda Ward and siblings, Sandra Winkler, Kenneth E. and Frederick J. Ward.  Calling Hours will be on Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Plainfield Optimist Girls Softball P.
