Obituary

Robert Alton Lockard (Bob), 96 of Plainfield, passed away on May 17, 2026. He was born on November 26, 1929, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, to the late Esther Lillian Glover and Robert Alton Lockard Sr. Bob is an US Army Veteran (SGT.) that served at home and abroad prior to attending Penn State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

On November 3, 1962, he married Elizabeth Florence Fay at St. Madeline Church in Ridley Park, PA. They are members of St. Susanna Catholic Church in Plainfield and former members of St. Malachy Catholic Church in Brownsburg, where they were very active.

After Bob graduated from college, he accepted a position at FMC American Viscose Division in 1960 as a credit manager. He remained at FMC/PTC until his retirement in 1994. To keep busy after retirement he worked part-time at H & R Block for several years due to his love of crunching numbers. Bob was a devoted husband and loving father of three children and spent his free time with his family and friends.

Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth F. Lockard of Plainfield; children, Robert A. Lockard, Jr. (Leticia) of Glenwood Springs, CO., Amy L. Vaiana (Frederick) of Westfield, James E. Lockard (Melissa) of Plainfield; 9 grandchildren – Justin Lawrence, Brooke Lockard, Tarra Lawrence, Jacob Lockard (Megan), Blake Lockard, Aurelia Wishart (Logan), Angelica Vaiana, Anthony Vaiana, Paige Lockard and 4 great grandchildren – Velma Fairweather, Luke Wishart, Willow Lawrence, Callistus Wishart.

Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, is handling the arrangements. There will be no services at this time.
