Robert Lee “Bob” Heymig, age 71, of Plainfield passed away on Saturday August 1, 2026 surrounded by his family. Bob was born in Indianapolis on October 15, 1954 to the late Nicholas V. Heymig Jr. and Mary Jane (Aders) Heymig. Bob married Cathy Cook on June 17, 1983; she survives. Bob was a truck driver for 25 years for Alexander Graphics/ Foto lab, Estes Truck lines for 16 years, and Epson for 6 years before his retirement. Bob and Cathy are members of the St. Susanna Catholic Church in Plainfield and Plainfield Eagles Lodge #3207.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Heymig. Children: Robert Lee Heymig Jr. (Heather), Jeremy Cook (Wendy), Joshua Heymig (Heather) and Kianna Heymig (Steve). Brothers: Terry Heymig (Debbie) and Michael Heymig. 5 Grandchildren, Brayden Cook, Randy Cook, Ricky Cook, Haven Heymig and Chase Heymig. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and Brothers: Ricky, Marshall, Henry and daughter Anna Rebecca Heymig, and also his loving godparents James and Alma Cook.

Bob enjoyed his time with family, loved fishing, working on old cars, listening to classic rock, and of course his many adventures with his wife.

Visitation will be held on Thursday August 13, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday August 14, 2026 in St. Susanna Catholic Church with Father Rob Hausladen officiating. Burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
