Robert "Chess" Hearon, Jr., 83 of Danville, passed away May 28, 2016.  Born January 7, 1933 in Bishopville, SC., he was the son of Sara Mae Woodham and Robert C. Hearon, Sr.  He married Ruth Mae Williams and she preceded him in death.  Chess worked as a foreman for Chevrolet Truck and Bus for 37 years, retiring in 1993.  He was an U S Army veteran and a member of the Speedway Moose Lodge #500 and Clayton Christian Church.  Survivors include his sons, Robert W. Hearon of Huntsville, AL., Jeffrey C. (Malynn) Hearon of Danville, Daniel L. (Kelly) Hearon of Mooresville, Craig V. (Judy) Hearon of Plainfield; sister, Barbara (Harry) Elmore of Bishopville, SC.; 6 grandchildren, Helen, Hannah, Autumn, Allie, Robbie and Sara.  Services will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 2, 2016 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with burial to follow at Lincoln Memory Garden, Whitestown.  Calling will be from 4:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 in the funeral home.
