Obituary

Richard Lee (Dick) Hunt, Sr., 78 of Danville, passed away on April 17, 2016 at his home, after a 2 year battle with cancer.  Dick was born on August 30, 1937 in Tangier, IN., to Leon and Wanda (Dove) Hunt.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Martha Sue Calvert, an infant daughter Angela and son Eric Reid Hunt.  He graduated from Danville High School in 1956 and attended college for 1 ½ years.  He was an U S Air Force veteran.   Dick retired after 35 years of driving trucks and taught semi truck drivers for 1 ½ years.  He was a member of Teamsters Local #135.   He is survived by his loving wife, Jeannie Lynch Hunt; sons, Richard Hunt, Jr. of Salem, OR.; daughter, Amber Stanley of Hazelwood; stepchildren, Bryan (Michelle) Washburn of De Motte, IN., Brenda (Jon) Pierson of Bainbridge and Brad (Pam) Washburn of Danville; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  Dick liked all sports, both, participating or watching and was an avid I U Basketball fan and Colts Football fan.  He was involved in the sports programs at Kingsway Christian School for many years.  He and Jeannie enjoyed camping and spending time with their family.  Services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 21, 2016 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with burial to follow in the New Winchester Cemetery.  Calling will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made at www.bakerfuneralservice.com
