Richard J. Greene, 82 of Plainfield, passed away on September 04, 2023. He was born on November 19, 1940 in Indianapolis, to the late Willellen (Pennycuff) and Everett Greene. He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1958. Richard married Patricia Catt Dishman on November 18, 1961 in Indianapolis. Dick was an engineer with CSX Railroad for 36 years retiring in 2002. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge, a Purdue fan, and an avid reader. Most of all he loved racing, especially NASCAR. He was a collector of model cars. Survivors include his son, Raymond Greene (Kelly) of Plainfield; daughter, Nancy Stofferahn (Scott) of Columbus, OH.; grandchildren, Sam and Emma Stofferahn, Nicholas Greene; brother, Frank Greene of Indianapolis; sister, Marie Rucker (William) of Lowell, IN.; and former wife, Patricia Greene. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, George Greene. Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, is handling the arrangements. A private family gathering will be held.
