Obituary

Rebecca Sue Knotts, 83 of Danville, passed away on May 14, 2026. She was born on September 12, 1942 in Washington Court House, Ohio, to the late Alice Elizabeth (Wilson) and Eldon Earl McBee.

Becky married Richard L. Knotts on August 26, 1959 in Marion, Ohio, and they were together for 56 years before his death on September 10, 2015. Becky was a wife, mother, grandmother and a homemaker. She loved to spoil both her grandchildren and her dogs.

Becky could always be found cheering from the sidelines at sporting events, school activities and life’s milestones. Becky was also a devoted football fan of the Danville Warriors, proudly attending the game from 1974-2017 with her lifetime pass and sharing her love and knowledge of the game.

Becky’s home was always open to family and friends, filled with homemade treats, candy jars, and Schwan’s ice cream. She loved flowers, gardening, animals, cooking and crafting and was especially known for her beautiful ruffled dresses and socks sold at her children’s store called “Grandma Made’um.”

She will be remembered for her generous heart, creative spirit, and strong faith in family.

Survivors include her 4 sons, Steven L. (Tammy) Knotts, Stanley E. (Vicki) Knotts, Samuel L. Knotts, all of Danville, and Shannon W. (Jamie) Knotts of Roachdale; brothers, Ed (Imo) McBee of Groveport, OH; Gary (Bobby) McBee of Lima, OH.; sister, Roberta (Jim) Duke of Hartfield, VA. 14 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Her parents; husband; brothers, Jeffery McBee, Terry McBee; and sister, Verla Elliott, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2026 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with entombment to follow at Danville South Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service time in the funeral home. Pastor Paul McBee officiating.
