Peggy Jean (Gray) Sawyers, 82 of Plainfield, passed away on October 11, 2022. She was born on November 10, 1939 in Kuttawa, Kentucky, to the late Mary Agnes (Rushing) and Gene S. Gray. Peggy married John C. Sawyers on September 12, 1958 in Clermont, Indiana. She worked for many years as an office manager for an OB-GYN group before moving on to other administrative positions but her favorite job was working at Chico's "dressing-up" the women of Plainfield. Her hobbies included decorating and fashion. Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, John C. Sawyers of Plainfield; son, Chris Sawyers (Cindy) of Franklin; daughters, Tracy Hartman of Noblesville, Brooke Snyder (Jeff) of Indianapolis; brothers, Cliff, Thom (Suzanne), Kent (Janet), and Joe (Patty) Gray; brother-in-law, David Kuner; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Her parents; brother, Mark Gray; and sisters, Sue Ramsey and Kimbra Kuner, preceded her in death. Services will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with entombment to follow at Washington Park North Cemetery Mausoleum, Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service time in the funeral home.
